Elias Gbadamosi, PhD.

I am a researcher and instructor at Colorado State University whose work sits at the intersection of media, technology, and society. My research falls into three linked aspects. The first facet examines how the architecture, governance, and power relations of digital platforms shape mediated public discourse. The second strand, focused on the politics of technology, is guided by the premise that technology is not neutral: here, I investigate how politics influence the production, design, financing, governance, and regulation of media technologies, and how those technologies in turn shape public discourse and power relations. The third branch, in critical audience studies, explores how audiences interpret, negotiate, and co-create narrative meaning with authors, and how that co-creation may be reshaping public engagement.
